Hello beautiful people! Today’s post is all about my life hacks (or the ones I can think of right away from the top of my head). I’ve been on the Earth for almost 20 years, and there are a few things I’ve learned to help me in my life. These hacks will be anything from health and fitness hacks to school hacks. Like I said before, this is just the list off the top of my head that I do use on a regular basis. These aren’t in any specific order, and the links listed below are not advertisements, just my personal favorites. I hope this helps you guys, and be sure to comment which hack is your favorite!
HACK #1: Cheap Sunglasses
I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like I’m ALWAYS wearing sunglasses. I absolutely love them, and I believe they can say so much about a person. My personal opinion is that you should have as many pairs of sunglasses as you do moods (if you’re like me that’s quite a few). I like to buy cheap sunglasses because then I don’t feel bad if I don’t wear a pair less often than another pair. Also, it’s easy to leave sunglasses in your car, a purse, my dad’s car, and more. If I lose a pair I feel sad because they’re cute, but I hardly feel bad about how much I spent. Usually when I lose a pair of sunglasses I end up buying them again because they were so cheap- that’s the best part! Some of my fav places to buy cheap sunglasses are Target, Pacsun, Charming Charlie, and Forever 21.
HACK #2: Starbucks & Protein Shakes
With this hack, I’m kind of cheating because someone else showed this to me when I used to work at Starbucks, but it is the best thing ever! The hack is to order espresso shot(s) in a venti cup and add your favorite protein shakes. I usually order a triple and add Muscle Milk’s chocolate or vanilla protein shake. It’s my way of getting an espresso-based drink with half the sugar, carbs, and calories with more protein than a regular Starbucks drink. PLUS, it comes out to less than $4 depending on how many shots you get and where you buy the protein shakes. This drink gives me energy and protein to help me stay on track with my health goals.
HACK #3: Take Coasters
This is another stolen hack, but it came from my aunt so I’m saying it’s fine. Whenever I go on vacation I try to take a coaster from my favorite restraints that we visit. It’s a good way to recall some of your best vacation memories without spending more than dinner. I tend to use them around my room or hang them on bulletin boards. I recently found a couple from this fun restaurant we went to in Nashville’s Midtown that had a nautical theme with dragonflies on their merchandise. They were known for their margaritas, and my dad loved them (a little too much if you know what I mean). As you can tell, just seeing my coasters brings back great memories, something you can’t buy.
HACK #4: Always Become a Member
This is something I started doing such a long time ago. Sometimes my friends think I’m crazy for how many places I’m a member of, but becoming a member of places you go somewhere regularly or even once a month is a good way to earn free things. I look at it this way, if I’m going to be obsessed with Starbucks and spend too much money there, I might as well get a free coffee every so often. In addition to earning things when you spend money, you’re likely to earn free things solely because it’s your birthday. Also, sometimes I get better deals or learn about things quicker because I’m a member? For example, I found out about Kenny Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun Stadium Tours first because I’m a member of Thomas Rhett’s fan club. Who doesn’t like free things and being in the known??
HACK #5: Mini Deodorant/Mini Body Mist
This is probably a TMI, but I know I’m not the only one who suffers from sweat! I always have a travel size deodorant or body mist (or both) in my purse and backpack. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked across campus and just felt like I needed to freshen up a little.
HACK #6: Student Discounts!!!!!!
Don’t ever be afraid to ask someone who is ringing you up at your favorite clothing store if they have a student discount. The worst they could tell you is no, and the best is that you save a dollar or two on the top you were going to buy regardless of the price. Amazon Prime, Apple Music, Spotify, Adobe, and more offer student discounts. My personal favorite sites that send can send you emails about student discounts with codes are UNiDAYS and StudentBeans.
HACK #7: Set the Car Clock Ahead
This drives some of my passengers bonkers, but this is something I’ve come to love. When I was growing up, my mother made sure my two other siblings and I were always early to anything looking put together. Unfortunately, as I’ve become my own adult I’ve found it impossible to make it to things on-time unless I choose to look like I just rolled out of bed. I have tried extremely hard to break this, so I have set my car clock fast. I DON’T RUSH ANYWHERE rather I try to get into my car at a certain time. Then when I arrive somewhere right on time I’m actually early.
HACK #8: Keep a Reusable Water Bottle Everywhere
Whether I’m living at school or at home, I always make sure to have a reusable water bottle by my bedside, in my car, and just about anywhere else that I spend a large amount of time. This is a good way for me to drink my daily amount of water as well as in case I’m ever just extremely thirsty in the middle of the night.
In the end, I can only come up with 8 hacks I use regularly. I hope that you guys find some of these hacks useful, or maybe you just find them funny. Either way, I hope you liked this post. Let me know what you think below.
